Last month United Hospice celebrated National Volunteer Week by paying tribute the some of the volunteers that regularly donate their time to bring comfort and honor life when time matters most.<\/p>\n
On April 16th<\/sup>\u00a0of this year, President Joe Biden proclaimed April 18 \u2013 April 24 2021 as National Volunteer Week. United Hospice believes that their amazing volunteers are the heart of hospice so they took advantage of the proclamation to celebrate!\u00a0<\/p>\n
Many of United Hospice\u2019s volunteers have been touched personally by the work of United Hospice and wish to give back, including Fern, a loyal volunteer who has been serving for 4 years.\u00a0 Others, like Renate who has been a volunteer for the past 2 years, work in the health care field and feel lead to give back.\u00a0 Renate shared \u201cI\u2019m so happy to be a volunteer here at United Hospice.\u00a0 I really love the people and want to be someone who is giving back service to life.\u201d. Some volunteers have worked with United Hospice for years and are considered a valued part of the staff.\u00a0 Volunteers like Stan who became involved with Hospice after both his parents received care. CEO of United Hospice Cara Pace, shared, \u201cThank you to all our volunteers for your incredible dedication to United Hospice. We could not do our work without all our awesome volunteers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Volunteers are the heart of hospice. The volunteer programs at United Hospice provide invaluable service to patients and families facing the challenges of life-limiting illness and loss. There are a variety of ways these invaluable individuals can give back to the mission of Hospice. Participants can serve in the office, within the community, at events or choose to work directly with individuals and families being served by United Hospice programs.
