United Hospice has an extraordinary opportunity for a skilled mental health professional with experience in providing bereavement, trauma, loss and crisis response both to children and adults. As Manager, Bereavement and Volunteer Services, you provide both clinical and administrative oversight for our Bereavement Department at United Hospice (UH). Your responsibilities include serving as a key member of our clinical Hospice team, while simultaneously providing supervision and mentorship as Manager of the employees and interns in this growing department. You will also serve as supervisor to our Coordinator of Volunteer Services, as volunteers play an integral role at United Hospice and interface with many of our Bereavement programs.
It is essential our employees have an understanding and commitment to hospice philosophy of care. Working with a diverse patient population, you must be able to communicate effectively, while sustaining a caring, kind and professional disposition. You will be expected to maintain the highest level of confidentiality concerning patient and family information. Bi-Lingual (Spanish-English) a plus!
Candidates must be adept at presenting both internally and in response to community requests on grief and loss. Must be a seasoned presenter and a confident public speaker. As a member of the counseling team, you will participate in a weekend rotation schedule. You will serve as an integral member of our Interdisciplinary team consulting on complex cases at weekly meetings. Serves as a consultant for complicated grief and family dynamics for both our Community Care Teams and our Joe Raso Hospice Residence.
Will have direct oversight in the daily operations of the bereavement program providing support groups for children ages 4 – 18, and their families, our Healing Hearts Program. Will provide clinical supervision for our Bereavement Interns and to all Bereavement Counselors (LMHCs).
This opportunity will also include collaborating with our Director of Counseling in future plans to expand our Bereavement Services in Rockland and Orange Counties.
Daily access to a reliable automobile is required. A valid NY or NJ State Driver’s License, ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required
