Part-Time, Early Morning Shift (7:30am -10:00am), Three days/week

United Hospice is offering an exciting entry-level opportunity for a part-time position as a trained cook to prepare breakfast at our Joe Raso Community Residence, a 24-hour residential program for hospice patients. Qualified candidates must hold a Servsafe Food Manager Certification. As an integral member of our caring team, you will prepare the most important meal of the day for our patients and their families, in our state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. We are seeking someone who is hard-working, reliable, and above all enthusiastic about cooking!
You must be able to prepare a variety of items to order, as well as managing food presentation and as needed, you will be able to meet special dietary needs (e.g. pureed, salt-free, etc.). You should be able to prepare both savory and sweet breakfast items based on patient needs.
Finally, the breakfast cook ensures safety and efficiency by maintaining the kitchen’s environment and equipment. You will assess equipment performance to determine whether repairs are needed and clean up kitchen areas throughout the shift to maintain a clean and productive environment. This also involves requiring other employees adhere to safety and cleanliness standards.
It is essential our employees have an understanding and commitment to hospice philosophy of care. You must be able to communicate effectively, while sustaining a caring, kind and professional disposition. Bi-Lingual (Spanish-English) is a plus!
